The Pierre Morell Neuroscience Research Retreat (PMNR, formerly Pierre Morell Research Day) was established in 2004 to honor the memory of Dr. Pierre Morell (1941-2003). Dr. Morell was the director of the Neuroscience Curriculum (formerly Neurobiology Curriculum) from 1978-1988 and was integral to the growth and prestige the program has achieved. The Pierre Morell Neuroscience Research Retreat is an entirely student run event that allows all current students in the Neuroscience Curriculum to showcase their most recent work.
Traditionally, this retreat has been held off campus. In 2026, we will be switching to a local, one-day retreat on Monday, May 4, 2026. If you have questions, please email Sophia_Berg@med.unc.edu.
