The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Primary Care RN Certificate Course is online and self-paced, helping you continue to balance work, life, and your career. The certificate program is designed to prepare a Registered Nurse to work in a primary care or an ambulatory care setting. It is also designed as a continuing professional development course for a Registered Nurse currently working in primary care.
The Primary Care RN Certificate Course reviews common issues in contemporary primary care settings and incorporate how changes to patient care delivery systems impact RN practice. The course describes how the RN can practice to the full extent of his/her license in:
• preventative care • quality and legal and ethical issues • interprofessional collaboration • acute and chronic care management
This broad overview of primary care will help RNs currently working in acute or long-term care to become familiar with primary care terminology, concepts and basic skills. Every module culminates in a 20- to 25-question multiple-choice exam that assesses your mastery of the learning outcomes.
This course provides a certificate of contact hours for the related content. This is not a certification course.
