This event is a dialogue co-hosted between Campus Y and APPLES Service-Learning as part of a grant from North Carolina Campus Engagement. The dialogue will begin with a statement, after which participants will discuss their immediate thoughts. Following the opening discussion, faculty, students and community partners will discuss the topic and share their experiences related to it. Facilitators will guide the conversation to cover subtopics including serving locally, nationally or abroad; serving in communities that have different identities than yours and serving in spaces that require professional skills or specific prior experience. One context that will be highlighted is what it means to come to UNC from different homes and how UNC community members interact with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community.
