This online, self-paced AFIRM module is designed for faculty and students in higher education and professionals who support autistic learners and their families across a variety of learning environments.

- This practice is included with Peer-Based Instruction & Intervention in the 2020 NCAEP EBP Report, which is an intervention in which peers directly promote autistic children’s social interactions and/or other individual learning goals, or the teacher/other adult organizes the social context (e.g. play groups, social network groups, recess) and when necessary provides support (e.g., prompts, reinforcement) to the autistic children and their peer to engage in social interactions.
What You’ll Learn:- Discover how small group activities characterized by their occurrences in a defined area and with a defined activity, the specific selection of typically developing peers to be in the group, a clear delineation of theme and roles by adult leading, prompting, or scaffolding as needed to support students' performance related to the goals of the activity.
