The DCM Aseptic Techniques class is a hands-on wet lab designed to teach students how to maintain a sterile field during survival rodent surgery. This course is mandatory for all Laboratory Animal Coordinators in laboratories performing sterile rodent surgery. All UNC rodent users who will be performing sterile survival surgeries are encouraged to attend. Alternatively, training and certification may be provided through a certified proficient Laboratory Animal Coordinator.
Prerequisites: Research Profile, Lab Worker Form, Animal Handler Form, and IACUC/DCM on-line orientation (https://acap.research.unc.edu/iacuc_reg/).
