The UNC Men’s Health Program is excited to host “Men, Know Your Numbers.” This community event is open to all and aims to raise awareness and screen men for their most common causes of illness. We join with the Wilson community focusing particularly on issues affecting black men.
Our distinguished panel of speakers includes talks with two prostate cancer survivors: Local legend Phil Ford of basketball fame, community advocates Victor Taylor and Dennis Williams as well as an informational discussion with UNC Urologist Dr. Eric Wallen.
One of our supporters, LabCorp, will be onsite, offering men free blood draws to assess essential health metrics such as prostate-specific antigen (PSA), the blood sugar test Hemoglobin A1C, and cholesterol levels. The Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN) will also be participating - providing educational material and resources to all those in attendance.
We are grateful to our community partners: Jackson Chapel First Missionary Baptist Church, Calvary Presbyterian Church, St. John A.M.E. Zion Church, Councilman Derrick D. Creech, and Arms Around Wilson.
We invite you to join us to educate and engage in men’s health in a journey towards wellness. Your support will make an important difference!
