Saturday, October 21, 2023, 11-3 PM EST, New Hope Camp & Conference Center, 4805 NC-86, Chapel Hill, NC 27514, (Dogwood Lodge)

In mindful nature, students can explore their inner landscape filtered by a lens of connectivity with the natural world around them.  By opening their hearts with self-compassion and nonjudgment, students discover a way of being more in tune with their sense of authenticity and inner peace.  By slowing down with mindful awareness, students will explore their natural environment with a heightened sense of awe, wonder, and appreciation.

During the retreat, your teen will experience.
Mindfulness research indicates that this program may help students improve focus, enhance self-confidence, and provide a basis for developing positive coping and time-management skills.

Based on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and tailored to adolescents, the empirically based curriculum for this course,  Learning to BREATHE, was developed by mindfulness expert/clinical psychologist Dr. Patricia Broderick and endorsed by Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Refund policy

After orientation, before the start of 1st class, a full refund minus the $75.00 administrative fee
After 1st class, no refunds


NOTE:  If you have any of the following issues listed below that would present additional challenges in taking the class, please call 919-966-8586 to speak with an instructor prior to registering for the course.

Hospitalization within the last six months for any psychiatric reasons
Medically unstable situation
problem with alcohol or drug abuse
Anger management issues that could potentially be disruptive to the group
Suicidal fantasies
