Best Practices for Mentoring Graduate Students
Promoting and Assessing Understanding for Graduate Student Mentees
Thursday, April 13, 2023 | 2:00 - 3:30 PM | Virtual (Zoom)

Determining whether a mentee understands the content and process of their discipline is not easy, and yet it's critical in a productive mentoring relationship. In this interactive workshop, participants will develop strategies to assess understanding, especially of core research concepts, that can enhance their mentoring relationships with graduate student mentees.

This workshop is intended for faculty who mentor graduate students and is part of an ongoing series about best practices in mentoring graduate students. The series is a collaboration between the Graduate School, Center for Faculty Excellence, TEAM ADVANCE and the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (School of Medicine). Content is adapted from TEAM ADVANCE'S Faculty Mentor Training and CIMER'S Entering Mentoring.

This workshop will be held on Zoom. Registrants will receive a confirmation email and an Outlook invitation with the Zoom link.
