Best Practices for Mentoring Graduate Students
Addressing Equity and Inclusion in Mentoring Graduate Students
Tuesday, March 28, 2023 | 3:00 to 4:30 PM | Room 304, Wilson Library

This interactive worksop is geared toward all faculty (tenured, tenure-track, and fixed term) who mentor graduate students. Through guided discussion, participants will gain insight into how elements of diversity, equity and inclusion affect mentoring relationships. Intersectionality is introduced as a lens for deepening mentoring relationships, and supporting graduate student mentees of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

This workshop is intended for faculty who mentor graduate students and is part of an ongoing series about best practices in mentoring graduate students. The series is a collaboration between the Graduate School, Center for Faculty Excellence, TEAM ADVANCE and the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (School of Medicine). Content is adapted from TEAM ADVANCE'S Faculty Mentor Training and CIMER'S Entering Mentoring.

This workshop will be held in-person.
