In February of 2022, Russia shocked the world by launching a full-scale invasion of its democratic neighbor, Ukraine. With hundreds of thousands dead and millions displaced, the war has been a disaster for both countries. After 30 years of peaceful coexistence, why did Russia embark on a war of aggression against its neighbor? What did the Russian government want to achieve and what instead has been the outcome? Where do Russia and Ukraine go from here? Graeme Robertson, a Professor of Political Science and a long-time student of Russia will offer some answers to these critical questions. K-12 and community college educators from all disciplines are welcome!
