K-12 and community college educators are invited to join UNC World View and Carolina Performing Arts for a webinar to explore the arts and culture of Hong Kong, China with a special focus on dance. World View's Bridging Cultures through Dance will feature Alison Friedman, Carolina Performing Arts Executive and Artistic Director and with a special guest artist from the Hong Kong Ballet. Together they will engage the audience with stories and information to learn about the unique and fascinating arts of Hong Kong, from Kung Fu to the golden era of Hong Kong cinema. Educators will leave the program with a greater awareness of arts and dance in Hong Kong and an introduction to the Hong Kong Ballet.

Carolina Performing Arts will host the Hong Kong Ballet for a performance of Romeo + Juliet at Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill. However, this is not the Romeo and Juliet you may know! This retold story of star-crossed lovers from Septime Webre is set in Hong Kong in the turbulent 1960s, where "retro Hong Kong is vividly brought to life in the epic love story's captivating dancing, complex drama, and sumptuous cheongsams." Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) is an internationally recognized and award-winning arts institution comprised of almost 50 dancers from across the globe.
