An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tool to identify professional goals, reflect on past accomplishments, assess skills relative to career goals, and plan actions for academic progress to achieve short- and long-term career objectives. An IDP is a great tool to facilitate communication with your mentor(s) and increase your self-awareness around the choices you make as a graduate student. In this workshop, you will use interactive self-assessment tools and skills-mapping exercises to generate measurable outcomes for your IDP. You will also practice strategies for using the IDP as a communication and decision-making tool.
