In 2019, the NC General Assembly mandated that K-12 students receive instruction on economics and personal finance. The NC State Board of Education developed economics and personal finance standards with the goal of providing students the opportunity to engage in application of the skills, concepts, processes, and knowledge in social studies courses and prepare them to be college, career, and civic ready. This virtual session will discuss the global perspective on personal finance that K-12 and community college educators should be aware of as they educate North Carolina students.
