This informative webinar will bring together families and health care / community providers to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on children with IDD and their families. As COVID numbers decline in NC, many of us still have questions about ways to keep our children and families safe. Trying to get back to normal is challenging! This diverse panel of providers and families, moderated by Dr. Rob Christian (CIDD pediatrician and child psychiatrist), will address topics including:

Current status of COVID-19 in NC
Best ways to keep children and families safe and healthy
Ongoing concerns for children with IDD and other special health care needs
Stories from families with children who have IDD
Ways to support children's mental health moving forward

Following brief presentations by our panelists, we will try to address many of your questions and concerns around the vaccination and next steps for the future.

Physicians on the panel include: Dr. Peyton Thompson, Pediatric Infectious Diseases; Dr. Benny Joyner, Jr., Pediatric Critical Care Medicine; Dr. Rebecca Putnam, Family Medicine; and Dr. Becky Baum, Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician.

Family presenters will be introduced during the webinar.
