TEAM ADVANCE Professional Development Workshop COMMUNICATION AND NEGOTIATION SKILLS

Facilitator: Dr. Sheila Kannappan Professor, Physics and Astronomy, College of Arts and Sciences TEAM ADVANCE Early Career Initiatives STEM Liaison
This two-hour workshop focuses on negotiation and communication skills. It is especially tailored for women faculty in academia, but many topics are of broad relevance and all are welcome. Topics include strategies and skills essential for:
interacting optimally with peers, colleagues, and advisors
negotiating effectively for resources and rewards
managing conflict and knowing when to seek help
creating a positive impression that will help you achieve your professional goals
Hybrid Format The workshop will be held in Bondurant G-010 (School of Medicine) with a remote option via Zoom. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged. Attendees on Zoom will be expected to engage fully with the facilitator and other attendees. All registrants will receive an Outlook invitation to confirm registration.
Faculty participating in TEAM ADVANCE programs are highly encouraged to attend.
