Targeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCESpring 2022 Faculty Mentor TrainingTargeting Equity in Access to Mentoring (TEAM) ADVANCE promotes a culture of equitable, effective mentoring across campus. Our
Faculty Mentor Training is a five-part interactive series for faculty seeking to enhance their mentoring skills, particularly in mentoring junior faculty. The core curriculum emphasizes equitable and intersectionality-informed mentoring skills and practices to support faculty mentees of diverse backgrounds and experiences. The curriculum is adapted from the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research's nationally recognized Entering Mentoring program.
Sessions include guided discussion, evidence-based practices, case studies and activities. Participants will gain access to workshop and mentoring resources through Sakai. All faculty (tenure- and fixed-term tracks) are invited to register.
Registration is for all five sessions in Spring 2022. Given the uncertainty of the pandemic and delta variant, the Spring 2022 training will begin virtually with sessions held via Zoom. Later sessions may be held in person as we monitor guidelines and gauge our participants' comfort levels. Registrants will receive Outlook calendar invitations with meeting location information for each workshop.
