This online self-paced module is designed for professionals who work with and/or support learners with autism and their families in a variety of learning environments.
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability that primarily affects social communication. In this AFIRM module, Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder, professionals will identify characteristics of ASD, including social communication, repetitive behaviors, thinking and learning, determine how to support learners with ASD, and complete activity-based scenarios that promote real-world application.

NOTE: If you have found this course through the UNC Event Registration System, you will need to go to the AFIRM website (afirm.fpg.unc.edu) to register and take the Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder module. Once you complete the module, you will have the option to pay for the CEs through the UNC Event Registration System.
