|Event Title||CTSA Grand Rounds: High risk yet often overlooked: Improving opioid safety for older adult cancer survivors|
|Sponsor||NC TraCS (Translational and Clinical Sciences) Institute: NIH CTSA at UNC-CH|
|Date/Time||03/18/2021 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM|
The opioid crisis response has largely overlooked multiple patient populations with complex opioid-related vulnerabilities, including older adults with cancer or dementia. Join Andrew Roberts, PhD, a CTSA KL2 Scholar from the University of Kansas Medical Center (who trained at UNC), for a presentation of findings from his KL2-funded work examining high-risk opioid use patterns and outcomes in older adult cancer survivors. The talk will also discuss future directions for work informing opioid safety interventions for older adults with cancer and dementia.
