Are you an international graduate student who needs assistance with filing your US federal and North Carolina state income tax returns? The federal income tax filing deadline (midnight on Wednesday, April 15, 2020) will be here before you know it!
Staff from the UNC Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will be a 45-minute information session to our Global Grads (international graduate students) on how to get tax preparation assistance through VITA, how and where to sign up for their appointments, and what documents and forms you need to bring with you for your future VITA appointment.
For more information on if you are eligible to use VITA services and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), please go to VITA's website. Due to VITA being a volunteer program, tax assistance appointments are limited. For additional tax preparation information, go to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services Tax Resources page.
If you are unable to attend this session, the Office of International Student and Scholar Services will have 2 additional sessions on January 31st and March 16th from 4:30 pm - 6 pm at the Nelson Mandela Auditorium in the FedEx Global Education Center. More information can be found here.
This information session is open only to UNC international graduate students. REGISTRATION is required and space is limited.
