Drs. Richard Felder and Rebecca Brent, authors of Teaching and Learning STEM: A Practical Guide will be facilitating a full-day workshop on designing effective instruction for undergraduate students across disciplines. The workshop will present tools and strategies to address:

• How do I plan a course? What can I do the first week to get off to a good start?
• How can I get students actively involved in learning, even if there are 200 in the class?
• What student problems and problem students am I likely to face? What can I do about them?
• How can new faculty members become fully effective in teaching and productive research?

Open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in teaching. Support provided by the SPIRE Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, CIRTL at UNC Chapel Hill, and TIBBS. Morning coffee and lunch provided. Seats are limited. Please only register if you are able to attend the full day.
