Safe Zone is a program designed to create a network of visible allies to people who identify as part of the diverse LGBTQ+ community. The four-hour educational session provides information and resources related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. 

In this Safe Zone for people currently serving asTeaching Assistants (and those interested in a future role as a Teaching Assistant) we will discuss strategies to create an inclusive classroom, go through scenarios you might encounter, and answer any questions you have. This is a great opportunity to learn how to be an ally to your students, to learn about resources available to LGBTIQA+ students, and to build skills around inclusion and advocacy that will be beneficial in future TA or professor roles.
