Future Science Educators (FuSE) & Center for Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) Present: Education Research Seminar with Dr. Rebecca Price, Professor & STEP Executive Director, University of Washington Bothell, on Friday, March 8th in Bondurant 2025 from 12:30p - 1:30p!

Dr. Rebecca Price received her PhD from the University of Chicago, followed by completing her postdoc as an IRACDA Seeding Postdoctoral Innovators in Research & Education (SPIRE) Fellow here at UNC Chapel Hill. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Elizabeth City State University, before continuing on to her current faculty position as Professor, Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, at the University of Washington Bothell, where she continues as a faculty member, active researcher in education research, postdoctoral training program director, mentor, and instructor.

  • Acclaimed Education Researcher (including, Discipline-Based Education Research)
  • Winner of the AAAS Science Prize for Inquiry-Based Instruction
Dr. Price's research focuses on how people learn and how people learn to teach, including how college students learn evolution and science in general; developing tools/strategies that help instructors identify/overcome conceptual challenges in evolution; and how postdocs learn state-of-the-art/inclusive teaching strategies and other issues relating to postdoc success.
