Leading the Way in Team Science: Tools for Navigating Challenging Conversations

Dr. Dinkin will showcase various tools used by leaders to help teams successfully navigate difficult conversations. Participants will explore the value and challenges of team conflict and will discuss 4-5 tools that encourage the sharing of different opinions while also preventing team derailment. 

Bio: 

Dr. Dinkin has over 20 years of experience in leadership development and evaluation for Government, Public Health, Healthcare, Non-Profit/Education and Human Service Sectors. Donna is widely recognized for her work in the area of action-learning coaching for team leadership development. She has served as a Team Learning Coach/Consultant for several leadership development programs including, Leaders Across Borders (Mexico and US public health leaders), Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellows Project and the Nebraska Health Research Action Learning Collaborative.  Prior to consulting, Donna worked for the University of North Carolina, School of Public Health as the Director of the National Public Health Leadership Institute (NPHLI) and the Southeast Public Health Leadership Institute (SEPHLI.) 

Dr. Dinkin has a Masters degree in Public Health, Public Health Nutrition (MPH) and a Doctorate (DrPH) in Public Health Leadership/ Health Policy & Administration from the University of North Carolina (UNC), Gillings School of Global Public Health. She is an adjunct member of the Center for Creative Leadership-Evaluation Center and the Gillings School of Global Public Health (NCIPH).
