Undergraduate liberal arts students often feel underprepared for the contemporary workforce because they find it hard to identify the broadly marketable intellectual and social skills they developed through their major. This half-day workshop will help graduate instructors identify these transferrable skills and construct syllabi that use a range of process?oriented methods of instruction and evaluative techniques to further develop them. By understanding the challenges and opportunities facing undergraduates interested in professional careers, instructors will be better prepared to communicate with interested students and direct them toward a set of campus resources related to career development. Lunch included.

Sponsored by UNC Graduate School Professional Development Program, with additional support from UNC Career Services, and in collaboration with Center for Faculty Excellence and UNC Writing Center.
