The Science Writing and Communication (SWAC) club here at UNC focuses on exposing graduate students and postdocs to the vast field of science communication. We run a blog, The Pipettepen, that provides our members with the opportunity to express and develop their passion for science communication through writing, editing, and/or illustrating blog posts. We also host a Science Communication Series in the spring featuring science communicators from all disciplines who speak with us about their experiences, host writing workshops, and offer career advice. Please note: Writing, editing, and illustrating positions do not require previous experience!
