Networking can feel intimidating, especially if you're not sure where to start. In this supportive workshop, you'll learn practical strategies for building professional connections with greater confidence and authenticity.
Together, we'll explore how to start conversations, ask meaningful questions, follow up effectively, and build relationships over time. You'll also learn why networking is an important part of career development and gain tools you can use in academic, professional, and everyday settings.
We especially welcome first-year graduate students, students who are still developing confidence in English, and those who are the first in their families to pursue graduate education. Whether networking feels completely new or simply a little uncomfortable, you'll find a welcoming, low-pressure environment where you can learn and practice.
Lunch will be provided for pre-registered attendees. This event will be held at the Graduate Student Center. Parking is not available. Please review our
building directions and nearby bus routes before attending.
