1-Day POCUS Workshop, Focusing on Tiers 1-2, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Description

This intensive one-day PRIME workshop is designed to give family medicine clinicians a focused, hands-on introduction to the most important point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications for family medicine. The curriculum centers on Tier 1 and Tier 2 applications identified by the STFM POCUS Task Force as the highest-priority for family medicine practice.

Over the course of a single day, participants will rotate through short didactic sessions and small-group scanning labs (3:1 ratio) with expert national faculty. You’ll learn practical image acquisition techniques and image interpretation with an emphasis on how to integrate POCUS into real-world clinical decision-making rather than just memorizing images.

Please note that you will have access to free lecture content for basic ultrasound knowledge, i.e., knobology & physics. It is strongly encouraged that you review these materials prior to attending the workshop.

This workshop is ideal for:

-Clinicians who are new to ultrasound and want a clear, structured introduction.
-Faculty and residents who want to experience POCUS and understand its value without committing to a 2- or 3-day workshop.
-Programs interested in “testing the waters” with POCUS training and building early momentum for a broader curriculum.

The registration fee for this POCUS Course is $700.00 per person. This fee includes administrative costs, educational materials, refreshments, and provided meals.
This live activity has been designated for a maximum of 9 CME Credits through AAFP.

The PRIME Learning Network originated from an ABFM Foundation Residency Learning Network grant and is committed to advancing point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) education within family medicine. As a national collaborative, PRIME brings family physicians together to elevate POCUS across the specialty.
