The “Leadership Starts With Me” Visiting Professorship is an initiative designed to enhance leadership development across the UNC School of Medicine.

Join Dr. Carol Bradford, Dean of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and member of the National Academy of Medicine, for a powerful Grand Rounds session exploring what it means to thrive as a leader in academic medicine. Drawing from her experiences as the first woman President of the American Head and Neck Society, Dr. Bradford will share tested leadership principles, real-world lessons from transitioning across complex leadership roles, and strategies to sustain excellence in both patient care and research. Light refreshments will be provided.

Objectives:

1.   Present key leadership principles and lessons learned from transitioning between increasingly complex leadership roles.
2.  Demonstrate how to maintain clinical excellence while taking on administrative and institutional leadership responsibilities.
3.  Offer practical wisdom for overcoming obstacles and creating positive change in academic medical environments.

Co-sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development and the Department of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, UNC SOM.
