One year after Hurricane Helene—and in the wake of numerous storms and devastating floods that have reshaped communities across North Carolina—the Institute for the Environment and the School of Data Science and Society are convening a panel of Carolina researchers to explore how data science is helping us prepare for the next flood. 

This timely discussion will highlight innovative approaches to flood prediction, risk assessment and community resilience, showcasing how interdisciplinary research is driving data-informed responses to extreme weather events.
