Wondering where you want to go in your academic journey? An Individual Development Plan—or IDP—serves as a shared roadmap. It guides us in setting clear professional goals, celebrating past achievements, and honestly assessing our current skills against both near-term milestones and long-term aspirations. More importantly, an IDP sparks open dialogue between graduate students and mentors, while sharpening our self-awareness around the choices we make every day. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into interactive self-assessment tools and skills-mapping exercises to turn our insights into concrete, measurable outcomes. We’ll also practice strategies for using the IDP as a collaborative communication and decision-making tool—so we can confidently chart our path forward.

Priority enrollment will be given to doctoral candidates in their second or third year of study. This workshop is offered as part of the Graduate Student Experience Initiative
