Mindfulness Yoga

4 Week Virtual Series

Led by Paula Huffman BS,RN,ERYT, Mindfulness Instructor

Date: July 31st-August 21st

Time:  6:15-7:30pm

Cost:   Series $65

Drop In:  $20 per class

Description:

This practice combines traditional yoga postures (asanas) with mindfulness techniques that focus on the present moment experience of connecting with one’s self through the breath and movement.

There will be attention given to bringing mindful awareness not only to our physical selves and bodily sensations but to the thoughts, emotions, and mood states that arise during the practice, cultivating the ability to stay with one’s present, moment to moment experience.

Intertwined throughout will be an emphasis on the Seven Pillars or Intentions of Mindfulness practices.

The possibility for experiencing the less obvious aspects of the poses on the overall state of being will be enhanced as the breath slows and the mind begins to clear.

If you are interested in moving away from a yoga practice that emphasizes the physical benefits of yoga or have wondered how to integrate a yoga practice with mindfulness, this class is for you.

These classes will be appropriate for anyone whether you have no background in yoga or meditation or if you have been practicing for years.

All poses will be practiced sitting and lying down.

Props Suggested:  Yoga Mat, at least one yoga type blanket, yoga block and yoga strap.
