The Midscale Experimental Research Infrastructure Forum (MERIF) is an annual event designed to connect NSF-related research infrastructure providers and users, fostering collaboration and advancing cutting-edge science. MERIF helps raise awareness of midscale research infrastructure, reduce barriers to its use, share best practices, and enable cross-facility research. It also identifies critical infrastructure gaps at the frontiers of CISE research and proposes innovative solutions across computer science and interdisciplinary fields.

Key Features of MERIF:

This year’s theme, "MERIF: Elevating User Impact," highlights strategies for maximizing the value of NSF facilities for research, teaching, and collaboration. Whether you’re an operator, researcher, project manager, or educator, MERIF25 offers unique opportunities to gain insights, grow your network, and contribute to the evolution of science infrastructure.

Join us to explore how these infrastructures can transform your research and elevate your impact on the scientific community.

MERIF25 will also host an in-person Project Management Half-Day Session on March 13, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 PM. Designed for project managers, this session will cover key topics such as NSF expectations, effective communication with principal investigators, and strategies for being supported in project work. Attendees will also be able to engage in feedback sessions and network with other project managers in similar projects.
