Are you less than two years from graduation and plan to pursue postdoctoral training? Are you starting to think about where you may want to apply for a postdoc or have you already started your search? Wherever you are in the process, the TIBBS Postdoc Boot Camp will put you on the path to success.  You'll learn the following:

We are honored to have as our keynote speaker Dr. Bob Duronio who is Professor of Biology and Professor of Genetics at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he received the Outstanding Postdoctoral Mentor Award from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in 2019, and the Excellence in Basic Science Mentoring Award from the Office of Graduate Education in 2020.  Dr. Duronio received his PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Washington University in 1991.  Working under Dr. Jeffrey Gordon, he was the first to clone and characterize eukaryotic N-myristoyl transferases and to demonstrate critical cellular functions for acylation of proteins by saturated fatty acids.  He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of California San Francisco under Dr. Pat O’Farrell, where he discovered a critical role for E2F transcription factors in controlling cyclin transcription at the G1-S transition of the cell cycle.  He was the recipient of both a postdoctoral fellowship and a subsequent Scholar Award from the Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Cancer Research Fund.  His lab studies the epigenetic control of DNA replication and cell cycle progression during animal development, and in 2012 he was elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.  He currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill

If you would like your CV reviewed, a limited number of sign-ups will be available at the end of Session 2 (March 23rd) with selected days to meet with Dr. Beka Layton or Dr. Patrick Brandt.
