This event is hosted by the UNC Lead for NC Project. Since 2019, Lead for NC has placed 75 young people in 68 communities across North Carolina. The impact of these partnerships is extraordinary program participants have secured more than $70 million in grants to advance key community projects, created citizen engagement initiatives and helped rebuild communities after hurricanes. Almost half of Lead for NC participants attend graduate school in public affairs and more than 90 percent of program alumni are employed in the public sector, 75 percent of them in North Carolina. Participants will learn about Lead for NC accomplishments and receive tips for community engagement in rural environments.
