Articulating Your Mentoring Philosophy and Plan provides faculty mentors an opportunity to improve their mentoring by developing their own mentoring philosophy based on their experiences, mentoring competencies, and aspirations. Designed as both a capstone to the CIMER Mentor Training Workshop Series and a stand alone workshop for anyone interested in improving their mentoring, this workshop reviews mentoring competencies such as aligning expectations, communication, mentoring across differences, supporting self-efficacy, promoting professional development and work-life integration, and more. The workshop provides opportunity for self-reflection, large and small-group discussion, and crafting elements of a mentoring philosophy to carry forward with current and new mentees.
